How to Picture-in-Picture YouTube iPhone
The YouTube app is filled with videos you can watch, share, and comment on with other people and communities. One feature that many people have been wanting is the ability to watch YouTube picture-in-picture. With picture-in-picture, you can watch videos while working on other things at the same time. Fortunately, picture-in-picture is possible using a couple of methods.
Premium users or USA citizen
The first approach is available only if you live in the United States or have a premium membership. Picture-in-Picture works for iPhones running iOS 15.0 or later, and it only works with non-music content.
Step 1:
Open up settings on the YouTube app by pressing on your Account and then Setting. Once in the settings, click on “General” and scroll down until you can find the option “Picture-in-Picture.” After you activate this feature, you will be able to watch videos Picture-in-Picture.
Step 2:
Choose a video and slide up to return to the iPhone home screen. The video will continue to play but on a smaller screen, and you can move it about as you choose.
Non-premium or international users (free)
Another alternative is to utilize the “X.app” app to achieve picture-in-picture on YouTube without being in the United States or having a paid subscription. The X.app app supports extensions, so you can submit the URL of the video to X.app and use picture-in-picture.
Step 1:
Download X.app from the App Store
Step 2:
Play the Youtube video that you want to view picture-in-picture, press on the Share button and then click on More and scroll down and click on “X: Video > Picture-in-Picture.”
Step 3:
After clicking “X: Video > Picture-in-Picture,” you will be brought to another page where you need to click “Picture-in-Picture” in the lower left corner of your screen to enable Picture-in-Picture.
