Nintendo released the Nintendo Switch in March 2017, becoming a massive success in the gaming industry. Whether you enjoy playing the Nintendo Switch on the go or at home in front of the TV, the Switch offers several enjoyable experiences.

Even after five years, the Nintendo Switch is still one of the most popular gaming consoles due to its portability, vast library of games, and hybrid forms. Although the Switch isn’t cheap, some may doubt whether it is worth the money, and we are here to help you by discussing all the benefits and problems with the Switch.

Reasons to buy a Nintendo Switch

1. It is both a portable and a stationary gaming device.

Your Nintendo Switch can be used to play games while you’re outdoors or at home with your friends or family. Only one type of gaming console can serve as both a portable gaming device and a gaming console, and the Nintendo Switch works very well on both fronts. Someone who likes to play games on the go will find it perfect for them.

2. The games are good

You should really consider buying a Switch if you are a fan of Nintendo games and have played some of the famous games they have to offer. Most of the games on the Switch have shown to be major hits and have gotten much more credit than critique. A few examples of such games are Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Super Smash Bros.

3. Innovative gameplay and design

The design and features of the Switch are not like any other gaming device. Joy-Cons work similarly to the Wii’s controller, so they work well with motion-tracking games. The Joy-Cons can be used for playing single-player games, but you can also share one Joy-Con with a friend so that you can play together.

Reasons to NOT buy a Nintendo Switch

While the Nintendo Switch has drawn attention as a versatile and inventive gaming console, there are a number of reasons why someone might not purchase one. It is critical to make an informed decision based on your own preferences and requirements. Here are some reasons to think about it:

1. The console and the games are expensive

A regular Nintendo Switch will cost you a few bucks. It has been quite some time since the Switch was released, but its price has remained the same. Even the games are expensive, and buying them used is probably the only way to get a cheaper price. If the cost of the regular Switch is too high, you could always buy the Switch Lite instead.

2. You might be forced to buy other accessories

Having just purchased your Switch and a few games, you’re wondering where to store them and how to protect them from damage. It is almost mandatory to buy a Switch case since it offers protection while also allowing you to carry your games and console around. Additionally, you may need further accessories, such as a screen protector and an SD card for storing memory.

3. The display is not that good

The PS5 and all newer XBOX models are capable of displaying 4K content, while the Nintendo Switch only displays 720p content. Connecting the Switch to its dock and playing games on an external screen or TV is the only way to play games in 1080p. Additionally, the screen is made of plastic rather than glass, which makes it less scratch-resistant.

4. Hardware Capabilities

The Nintendo Switch has somewhat restricted hardware capabilities when compared to other game consoles such as the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. Some games may have less spectacular visuals and performance as a result, especially when compared to titles targeted for more powerful platforms.
